Develop the Skills and Confidence to Become an Effective Tutor

Instrucly’s Tutor Certification Program is an eight-week professional training course that teaches you how to tutor effectively — whatever subject you plan to teach. Whether your strength is mathematics, science, history, business, languages, test preparation or another area of expertise, this program develops the instructional skills, practical techniques and professional confidence you need to support learners online and in person.

Our Story & Mission

Instrucly was founded on a simple belief: where you live should not limit the quality of education you can access.

Across the Gulf, Egypt, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa, millions of capable, ambitious learners need strong English skills to study, work, and communicate internationally — yet genuinely personalized instruction from qualified educators is often out of reach. Instrucly exists to close that gap.

Our mission is to deliver personalized English education from certified Canadian tutors to learners wherever they are. Every Instrucly program begins with an individual assessment, is taught live and one-on-one, and is adapted continuously as the student progresses. We also train the next generation of tutors through our professional Tutor Certification Program, because raising the standard of tutoring benefits learners everywhere.

Who Should Enrol?

This program is designed for people who want to tutor with skill and professionalism — including:

No previous teaching experience is required.

Participants should, however, possess appropriate knowledge or competency in whatever subject they ultimately plan to tutor. Instrucly teaches you how to tutor effectively — we do not teach the academic subject itself. Because the program is delivered in English, applicants should have a strong command of English (C1-level proficiency or an equivalent standard), a genuine interest in helping students learn, and the confidence to communicate professionally.

How the Program Is Delivered

This program is designed for people who want to tutor with skill and professionalism — including:

No previous teaching experience is required.

Participants should, however, possess appropriate knowledge or competency in whatever subject they ultimately plan to tutor. Instrucly teaches you how to tutor effectively — we do not teach the academic subject itself. Because the program is delivered in English, applicants should have a strong command of English (C1-level proficiency or an equivalent standard), a genuine interest in helping students learn, and the confidence to communicate professionally.

Your Final Teaching Evaluation

During the eighth week of the program, each participant prepares and conducts a 30-minute, one-on-one teaching session with an individual student, observed and evaluated by an Instrucly Instructor as the participant’s final examination.

You may conduct your teaching demonstration using an appropriate subject or topic within your own area of knowledge. The evaluation assesses your tutoring ability — not your knowledge of any particular subject.

During the session, you will: - Prepare a structured lesson plan - Deliver the lesson to an individual student - Demonstrate communication and instructional skills - Use appropriate teaching strategies and learning materials - Engage the student throughout the session - Assess the student’s understanding - Provide suitable feedback and lesson closure

You will be evaluated on: - Lesson preparation - Organization - Time management - Communication - Instructional methodology - Ability to explain concepts - Student engagement - Questioning techniques - Use of resources - Adaptability - Assessment of student understanding - Feedback - Professionalism

Supervised practice first. Throughout the program you will complete guided preparation and supervised teaching practice, so you arrive at Week 8 ready and confident.

An essential course requirement. Successful completion of the final teaching evaluation is required to complete the program and receive your Instrucly Certificate of Completion.

The program teaches you how to tutor effectively; the subject you tutor is determined by your own knowledge and qualifications.

That is up to you. Participants determine the subjects they are qualified or knowledgeable enough to tutor, based on their own education, experience and expertise. Instrucly’s program develops tutoring methodology — lesson planning, student engagement, assessment, communication and professional practice — rather than subject-matter expertise.

In Week 8, you will prepare and deliver a 30-minute, one-on-one lesson to an individual student, observed and assessed by an Instrucly Instructor. You may teach any appropriate subject or topic within your own area of knowledge. You will be evaluated on lesson preparation, organization, time management, communication, instructional methodology, ability to explain concepts, student engagement, questioning techniques, use of resources, adaptability, assessment of student understanding, feedback and professionalism. Successful completion of this evaluation is required to complete the program.

Graduates receive an Instrucly Certificate of Completion — Tutor Certification Program, awarded upon successful completion of all program requirements, including the final teaching evaluation. The certificate is a professional recognition that you have completed Instrucly’s training and demonstrated the tutoring skills covered by the program. It is not a government-issued teaching licence or an accredited academic credential.

Module 7 also prepares you to build an independent tutoring practice — creating a professional profile, setting rates, marketing your services and finding students through tutoring companies and platforms.
